Winter Decor Ideas
Author Casey Wood
After the holiday season, many of us are sad to yank our decor down and be left with a home that no longer feels festive. Here are a few simple tips to give your home a comfy, beautiful feel post-holiday season, with several wintry months still ahead!
1) Pack away extra clutter and small knick knacks to allow a clean, fresh space for the new year! Bring in a few large scale items, such as an oversized vase or large bowl, rather than several smaller ones. I love uniquely shaped glass vases as well as textured pottery, which is having a moment right now.
2) Use greenery! Simple and inexpensive greenery can add so much vibrance and life to your home during the dreary winter months. A few single, hearty green stems placed in a large-scale vessel will instantly change the mood of your space. I also love a simple, unadorned wreath that feels welcoming without being busy.
3) Keep things cozy with layers and texture! Lay a chunky knit blanket out on your sofa, pick up a few neutral pillows that have great texture or knit to them, or drape a sheepskin throw or small rug over a chair. A classic black and white buffalo check is also one of my favorite ways to create a cozy, warm, wintry feeling in a space without screaming “Christmas!”
Think clutter-free, fresh greenery, and lots of cozy texture this winter! I hope these simple tips can go a long ways in helping you create a home you love to be in. Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and happy New Year!
